Welcome to our Summer Newsletter

We have a fresh new look for the newsletter which we hope proves easy to navigate so you do not miss any of the informative articles. We always welcome your feedback so please email familiesfirst.support@hertfordshire.gov.uk with any suggestions you may have for future editions.


With the school summer holidays rapidly approaching, we are pleased to be able to give you details of the
Fit, Fed and Read programme which is now running across the county and aims to confront the growing issues of hunger, isolation and physical inactivity in children from low income families during the school holidays. YC Herts also have the
Positive Alternatives Summer Programme - which includes group sessions for teenagers covering healthy relationships, sexual health, drugs and alcohol, social media and Citizen Aid. There is also an article to help key workers who are working with families with Families First Assessments plan for the summer holidays.

We have added some localised activities in Broxbourne and Hertsmere. Please email familiesfirst.support@hertfordshire.gov.uk if you would like to add any "free to access" local district activities taking place throughout the holidays to this page.

We also have news from the Royal Garden Party, where Jackie Clementson attended with Karen Dorney. Jackie was nominated to attend by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government for work on the national Troubled Families programme and transforming early help services in Hertfordshire.
