Herts Sports Partnership Lockdown Award Winners!

The Herts Sports and Physical Activity Partnership are excited to announce their HSP Lockdown Award Winners. The online awards took place this year as a one off to highlight the amazing work and achievement of Hertfordshire’s sporting community throughout a difficult and uncertain time for Hertfordshire sport.

As we enter another lockdown, what better time to announce our fantastic Lockdown Award Winners. The awards proved very popular with over 100 nominations across our five categories. For the first time the Partnership introduced an online public vote which saw just under 4000 votes coming in for the 100+ nominees. It generated some great social media coverage with clubs and groups promoting their nominees through the different online channels.

The below winners were announced virtually, by special guest Sky Sports Presenter David Croft:

  • Most Inspiring Club: Bootyfit
  • Best ‘Active Lockdown’ Video: Woodend School #Jointhechain
  • Best ‘Active Lockdown’ Photograph: Loo Roll Delivery
  • Best Use of Lockdown: Teens Unite
  • Best Lockdown Coach: Philip Neville

Three special awards were introduced selected by our Director, Chair and Vice Chair and the winners of these awards were:

    • HSP Director’s Award: St Albans City Youth FC
    • HSP Chairman’s Award: Stevenage FC & Stevenage FC Foundation, Community Careline Project
    • HSP Vice Chair’s Award: Watford Borough Council, Oxhey Activity Park

A special thanks to all those nominees who kept the sporting community thriving during lockdown 2020; it reassures the Hertfordshire sporting community that during Lockdown 2.0 sport will very much shine through!
