Dear Partners and colleagues,
We hope you all had a good summer and managed to have some much deserved time off from your busy roles.
As we start the new school term, Hertfordshire schools and colleges are working hard to make sure children and young people can return to school safely. You can read the latest guidance here and this can be shared with parents to reassure them that their school is following all Government and public health advice for the start of the new term. In addition, The Early Intervention Foundation (EIF) have also published a range of resources to support children's social and emotional wellbeing as they return to school. You can access this here.
In this edition we have a special feature from the SEND Transformation team who have put together a practical tool to assist early help professionals navigate SEND information and support. We also have a feature on BeeZeeBodies, who run a children’s and young people’s healthy weight service across Hertfordshire.
You can also read more about the Government's recently launched Kickstart Scheme which is a new initiative to support 16-24 year olds into work. This will help us to support young people in building their skills for the workplace.
Can we please also ask for your help in improving our Families First Portal by answering a short survey, and finally please keep an eye on our Grants and Funding page which lists some Covid specific funding opportunities.
We hope you enjoy this issue and please continue to send in your service updates.
Best wishes from the Families First Development Team
