Forthcoming Step 2 Skills Courses

The below forthcoming courses may be of interest to Hertfordshire parents. Please pass on where appropriate.

    New courses announced at Maxwell Park Community Centre, Borehamwood – Step2Skills is pleased to add two employability courses to our January timetable, to be run from our hub in Borehamwood;

                      Introduction to Customer Services – 5 week course, starting on Thursday 13th January at 10am - £15

                      Introduction to Health & Social Care – 5-week course, starting on Thursday 13th January at 1pm - £15

    Both offer an insight into careers in these industries, giving learners tips, advice and knowledge around these job types. £15 fee may be waived in exceptional circumstances. Please phone to discuss on 01992 556194.

    Hybrid teaching format being trialled at Step2Skills – Learn from home or face-to-face!

    Step2Skills is delighted to be offering a new, HYBRID teaching format this January on an Essential Digital Skills Qualification course (EDSQ), allowing learners to choose whether to study from home or at the venue!

    The first course being delivered in this hybrid format is our FREE Essential Digital Skills Qualification (EDSQ) which is a new standard of qualification developed by The Department for Education (DfE) to enable all adults to develop their ICT knowledge and skills to use in their personal lives, or to support them in their careers.

    Learners can join the face-to-face classes at the Bedwell Community Centre in Stevenage or can join online, in real-time via their computer at home. The course starts on Monday 17th January and continues for 18 weeks with one 3-hour lesson weekly.

    Spend quality time with your child with Family Learning opportunities at Step2Skills

    Step2Skills is offering several opportunities this January, to both spend quality time with your child while learning and also to learn as an adult about various aspects of supporting your family.

                      Family Coding: An online, 5-week course from 4pm to 6pm, starting Wednesday 12th January. Computer coding now forms part of the school curriculum so if you’d like to get involved and understand more about what your 8 to 11 year old is learning, this after-school course for parents and their child is perfect.

                      Family Mindfulness: A face-to-face, 5-week course in Stevenage from 1pm to 3pm, starting Wednesday 12th January (£15). Either come alone or bring pre-school aged children along with you to learn more about mindfulness and how you can incorporate techniques into the everyday to make life more manageable and focused.

                    Family Health: An online, 5-week course from 10am to 12pm, starting Thursday 13th January (£15). We're in the season of norovirus, flu, colds and more and you may well be constantly clutching a tissue or reaching for a vitamin tablet! If you'd like to enter 2022 with the aim to improve your family's eating habits, exercise regime or general wellbeing, our Family Health course may be just what you're after.

                      Family Fortunes: A FREE, online, 5-week course from 1pm to 3pm, starting Thursday 13th January. New year, new start and if finances get you down, join this free course to learn money-saving tips, budgeting techniques and adjust your lifestyle to fit your financial means.
